With all the recent and unfortunate attacks in Florida, Sheriff Wayne Ivey has responded with a call to action for Floridians and others. He encourages law-abiding citizens to take charge before emergency personnel to arrive, to get concealed carry licenses, to carry your firearm with you whenever possible because “They don’t do you any good when they are at home.”  It is refreshing to hear an officer be realistic about keeping citizens safe.  Officers cannot be there the moment Sh*t hits the fan, but the targeted citizens are.

He states “This is war, and you better be prepared to wage war to protect you, your family and those around you if attacked” and ” doing nothing or just hoping it won’t happen to you, is not going to save your life.”  He also criticizes Britains Run, Hide, and Tell technique.

This approach is nothing new to “one of the most politically incorrect sheriffs in the country.”  In 2015 after a mass shooting in California, he made a similar video that received millions of views.
