Unique-ARs Fan Friday
June, 1st 2018
Todays Fan Friday was put together by Bryan Molder.
This gun build took about 2 months to come together before it was sent out for Cerakote. The coating took about 6 weeks and then once it was done it took about 1 hour for final assembly.
After I received my .224 valkyrie barrel from Rainier I started to build the gun around it. I figured what’s better than Skulls and Wings to go with a Valkyrie.
For the components
- .224 Valkyrie barrel by Rainier
- SDTA titanium Muzzle brake
- Spikes Tactical “Jack” lower
- Handguard and short heat shield by Unique-AR’s
- FAB Defense Mako SR25 stock
- Upper & Lower titanium components by Seven V
- Sig Sauer Whiskey 3 scope
For the Cerakote, I had the help of Chris and Evan at Armadillo Machined Products in Gardendale, TX.
They started with Hidden White on the lower, handguard, heat shield tube. Then Crimson on the lower/upper, handguard, barrel, flash suppressor, grip, stock, etc. Then Magpul Stealth Gray on all of those items.
Roughed up the edges to bring out the lower layers of colors. Used USMC Red as the blood splatter. Accent pieces including bipod, scope mount, etc are in Tungsten.
I started building AR’s almost 1 year ago. I thought it would be a good distraction and a great hobby. Turns out it’s both but I didn’t get the memo on how expensive it would be. But none the less it has been rewarding.
Fan Friday is all about the unique builds brought to life by our customers! So every week, we look forward to sharing those custom handguards, uppers, and whole rifles. If you’re a customer and you want your build featured HERE on our site, send all the pictures you want to email@example.com, and don’t forget to TAG US on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
